MEASUREMENT GUIDE: HOW TO HANG CURTAINS
What to do:
You need the exact measurements to purchase the correct curtain and rod length.
You will want the curtains to lightly graze the floor when they are hung.
Hang your curtains about 6 inches above the window. This gives an illusion of taller ceilings.
Your curtain rod should extend past the window by about 10-12 inches on either side.
What not to do:
Avoid: Do not hang the curtain rod directly above the window. This will make your window look smaller.
Choose: Picking a curtain that is too short will make the room look smaller. Always go for the floor length curtain.
Avoid: Do not choose a curtain rod that is too narrow. Make sure it always extends past the window.
